Mm, I don’t think so? If it’s about the commanders possible jealousy, I’d say it’s similar to if you sibling/parents/best friend were having someone getting close to them, and you’re jealous. Also, I get annoyed when I see the boy dogs eyeing my girl dogs. (My grandparents has boys and I have girls.)
I don’t think there’s such elements, unless you count her POV. (Though let’s be fair, we’d all drool over him, if we were birds too and got that chance. LOL.) But tbf, she still sees herself as more human than bird. Though he was more eye candy than a romantic interest at this point. But this is just my opinion and POV.
