I dont think it gonna work out even without kan chan boss ruining his mental health. In this story yumi said that part of him still holding for the black hair guy even when he was dating kan chan. Kan chan and yumi would be amazing best friends (if there no deteriorating mental health from kan chan) but they would have last as a lover. Especially if following the plot line where yumi will eventually encounter with the black hair guy
