Tbh, even though I know that the director is being rational on the situation, I would turn him down immediately. If anything else happened at work, idk if I'd be able to separate my private and work life. It would just making both working and dating each other awkward. Like imagine making a mistake on your anniversary or a birthday and having to go celebrate after that. I would be both embarrassed and pissed off. This incident just makes it evident that there is too much of a power gap between them.
