No, he was trying to take care of him at first, but he had a hard time because he was a poor orphan and one day Isaac came back home with a loaf of bread and blood all over him so I assume he thought that Isaac had killed someone and stolen food. I'm pretty sure he did, but the man was like a child molester or something and he was tryna feel him up so he kinda deserved it. Anyway, as a child I guess he became afraid of him, so someone probably offered him money to take Isaac off his hands, he may have thought that they would take care of him, and as a kid that barely had enough to eat everyday and had to feed Isaac his blood despite that, it must've been too much for him to have to take care of Isaac, so even though it was selfish, you can't really blame him.
