yeah I've come to that conclusion as well, in the end both just love one another. I did say things about this being in yaoi or gender bender category when the story is about j identifying as a woman.... but then again this being labelled bl and Paul being "gay" contradicts that and this might be the author unawareness of trans at the time. might be due to the timing that some people put tags like "transvestite" in stories about trans and "hemaphrodite" in stories about intersex too
yeah idt the author put too much time into defining them and the genre and just went with the convenient genre but it was good nonetheless!
