nope, better start with "Fruit Basket"- as first shoujo, it's a bit fantasy and bit old in style, but the characters and relationships are timeless.
I'm happy with my choice though, I mean the plot of this shoujo manga is unique for me and I enjoy reading it ヾ(☆▽☆)
not hating on this comic plot, this shojo is great <3 so far,
but when starting with a Type of manga you really need to start with a Classic, like if you watch sci-fi for the first time - you Need to start with -Star Wars ep4 NOT Star Wars ep1, that kinda logic, you get what I mean? start with something already proclaimed a "Great One/Must See", because a fresh new comic can end up turning bad and terrible and ruin your pattern for the the whole world of shojo.

I understand what you mean, but I'm not really new with shoujo I used to watch anime shoujo but it's my first time reading a manga with only shoujo theme in it, thats what I meant :)
