dk for sure, but I think the story said her eyesight was bad but not that she was blind, maybe bad as in 'needs glasses' ?
I guess....
But still doesn't explain how she read it.....the story is mix of cliche too....

I think that she should be able to read it, maybe a bit fuzzy(like my eyesight without glasses)
being nearsighted doesn't equal being blind, it does explain how she read the letter(if she held it close to her eyes, she should be able to see it).
I'm not blind without glasses and neither is she
My cousin bumps into things and gets headaches when he takes them off. He has to wear double lenses frankly I do not know why his eyes are like that. But he is not completely blind
How tf did she read that letter? Isn't she temporarily blind??
