real question: is the seaweed in onigiri supposed to me soft or retain its crunch?? because every time i try to make it, the seaweed always absorbs the moisture of the rice and becomes really hard to chew through

I think it is supposed to get soft, but idk for sure. I think if you want a more crunchy texture then you have to eat the onigiri right after you make it.
