No. He has the body if a 12 year old. He is physically 12. Not 40. I have met many children who are mentally already an adult. Does that mean they can't date anyone their own age.
We know regression or reincarnation is pure fiction. So how is it wrong. Yes mental age should be considered but same a physical age. Art is 12. With what everyone else thus is genius intelligence.. he already doesn't want to date yet. But he still act like a 12 year old would at time. So I see nothing wrong with him dating tess. They are very close in physical age. She being 13 him being 12. It's not like he's actually 40. His memories are that of a 40 year old. Not him

Plus didn't he say he would wait till they were older? Seems to me like he does know that its weird. If he waits till she's like 18 or older than I'm completely fine with them dating.
It's okay if it's a long reply I respect your opinion, You said its fiction so theres nothing wrong, But what if regression is real? Let's say that if it ever real, He has memories of being 40, He has experienced it, the only thing that's different is his physical age. I dont mind him dating someone his age if he was already 18+ and the girl he likes is the same age but he knows tess since they were kids so isnt tess like, A little sister to him? That's what makes me kind of uncomfortable.
I've seen vampires that live very long and fall in love with a girl/boy that is of legal age, And I'm fine with that but it gets really uncomfortable when the vampire has known that said love interest since they were a child.

It's a iffy subject. While I don't see wrong if they are physically 12 years of age and they have memories of 40+ years. They are still 12. Not 40. Mental age doesn't change the physical age. Do they act more mature sure no doubt about that.
In this story he doesn't want to date anyway. Just yet. But if regression was real. Society would still view them as kids. Till they are of age. No matter what memories or how much they remember er of the past. And let's not for get. They are in mid evil times. Which they even said it in the story. They are already married by a certain point. So I don't see this as a older guy marrying a younger underage girl. This story has tge girl physically older then him.

I love how you mentioned mid evil times. Nobody says anything when the main or side character gets married to a 30+ year old while the main/side is like 14-18. And in the times they would marry their cousin or marry someone they don't love bc of power. Get where I'm at?
Yeah I know all that. I love history. It's a hidden pleasure of mine lol. Yes and while in today's standard any 14 year old marrying a 30 year old is bad. But back in the mid evil(dark ages) our life expectancy was roughly 40 to 50 years. And Infant mortality was really high. Children more often then not died in infancy. That's why as soon as a girl started her period she was married off.
In today's standards that's gross and wrong.

Yeah there are tons of things that a lot of people didn't know. I love learning about it.. now do I have a PhD in history no... but it's so fun to learn about times of the past..
Like for instance. If you where sick with a fever they would drill a hole in your forehead.. the reason why is because they thought those that were sick were possessed by demons. Thus drill a hold in their head to release the demon.

Yup, modern medicine, and other luxury stuff. I don't live like that too lol. It also can get very worse. Looking back in history there was a reason the 1400s to the 1600s was called the dark ages.
I'm sorry please respect my opinion but I really do not support the Tess x Arthur. Arthur is mentally older. But maybe it's just me who isnt comfortable with the ship. I really like tess as a character though!
