you don't have to, it could be a standalone. like what @rei said, I also read this first, I mean I didnt even read for your love and I still get the story completely, it just has some characters from for your love that make an appearance but they aren't the main characters or anything
The story didn't really connect to one another but I guess reading FYL first will get you a gist on Yuri's characteristic well.
