Not really devalue, that depend on the hand of the ruler. In some country the ruler can choose whom he will married. The first wife is remarried woman and the second is the virgin. In the eyes of their citizen the value of the virgin to be queen is highest then the remarried woman but in the eyes of the ruler is the remaried wife. Then, when he got crown to be the king, he choose his remerried wife to be the queen In this case the ruler is a prince.
Why? Is it because he has son with the prince? Not really, her son with the prince is died the remaining that still alive is their daughter. Then why??
Because the remarried wife he choose has wisdom, knowledge, wise and some nature that the second or the virgin doesn't have. The second wife is smart, beautifull, and young, from her he has 3 son. But he still choose his first wife.
