Yeah I was kinda confused where all this story is going and what's the point. But we get to see Duke's point of view around ch. 20?

It's kinda bland thought imo
As we already saw in previous chapters he payed the price in his entire life by guilt and regret , he acknowledged his faults and he truly regrets it wich is why he returned to the past to apologize to both his son and his wife . If he wasn't guilty and sorry for what he has done I would've never accept a romance between him and Reina , I felt truly disgusted of him until we saw his point of view . I can understand that you still feel disgust towards him but personally I believe that if someone recognize their wrongdoings and their awful actions then proceed to apologize and change , then they should be giving a chance ( of course Reina have the choice wether she forgives him or not because she's the one that suffered and she deserves that choice )
