I feel like the root of the hatred towards helena is bec she holds so much power, like she can play the prince bec the prince values her so much. and that she remains powerless unlike our fl whose moving. And that one panel where she tripped and our fl got slapped by the prince, I feel like she could have defended her or blocking it herself. There's so much power she holds that she remain unmoving. That's just my opinion tho.

At first I just thought that her character wasn't just relatable. But I see this is also a good point.

Yeah that’s exactly why I find her annoying (I don’t hate her tho). Literally one word from her and those idiots would do anything she asks but she never uses her power, tbh it’s just annoying but I also understand her position and that she’s a maid so she’s timid and is playing it safe by just going along with whatever people higher than her want (in that sense she’s also relatable just like the fl).

So i can’t really hate her but I don’t really like her that much either. I just find her annoying and feel bad for her at the same time.

Well, I guess it's more of like understanding her position than relating to her actions, for me at least. I still don't like how she always plays victim when she can choose to do otherwise. It's like she's just waiting to be saved by someone.

Personally, IRL, I hate people who play victims. I mean, it's not their fault. I understand that. But seriously, instead of dwelling in it, why not do something about it? Especially when you can do something about it. Why not do it? Why wait for someone to save you when you can save yourself.

So yeah, no matter the justification, I can't still like Helena. Or the way her character is portrayed in this story.

Considering she's somehow favored, she does have an option to do something. Instead she remains quiet. That's also the reason why it is only until now that Eris realized Helena is also a victim. Because Helena, in her desperate attempt to save herself, chooses to remain quiet. Like what gaybitch said, Helena has power but chooses not to use it. It might be because of fear. But then again, when will she be able to overcome it?

As I said, I do understand her position. But I don't agree with the choices she's made. That's why I can't connect with her character.
