I already finished the novel but I'm still lost af with his reason. I mean yes it's understandable but he's already suffering that much. It made me so upset because the both of them suffered so much when the worst case scenarios could've been avoided. I'm really satisfied with the ending tho. The development was good but the process was too much
Yup yup!!!! LOVED the development, there was a slight detail which made this novel different from the cliche "Scum top to Loyal dog" troupe wherein Gu pretended to leave because Nianian still does not openly recognize their relationship UUGGGHHHH!!! . the push and pull of it all. Also the fact that Baby Gu was still a virgin even after all the shit Shen Luoan tried to pull is SOOO CUTE "Chef's kiss"
I WAS SHOCKED ABOUT THAT LMAO. I WASN'T EXPECTING HIM TO BE A VIRGIN AT ALL. IT ADDED A LOT TO THE SUPER CUTE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP HSHSHSHSA

It's already hinted that Yansheng loves niannian. He really do but he thinks that it's wrong since he "owes" Luoan his life because bitchass is the one who "saved" him. I actually pity him more than niannian. I don't know why. Maybe because he was blind about the whole truth when in fact everyone around him knows about it that caused him to be such an asshole because he feels responsible and guilty for the leech. He doesn't know a single fucking thing about who saved him as he can't fully remember that incident. It's actually ridiculous because they want him to remember but they don't tell him shit. It's upsetting because this could've been avoided if they spat out the truth earlier. Yes, he shouldn't have been such an ass to niannian— beating him and all but then again, things won't go that bad if he knows the truth. They could've been one of those fluffy and sweet couple. I still don't get why Niannian didn't want to just spat out the truth and chose to suffer when they can actually sort things out with just a single truth.
