hey hey! okay so, what happens next is:

- lucia will throw a large scaled tea party as a requirement of her participation in the social season. she decides to introduce damien as her son in that party so that by the time damien is older, he would be well-known as the heir and have connections.

- the garden party was absolutely pretty and amazing. however, the duke had to leave for the whole day since there was an issue (i forgot what it is specifically). a lot of women attended since lucia is the duchess.

- one of the women who attended is an old lady who 'controls the northern' high society and is the rival of lucia's etiquette teacher/kate's grandmother. This old lady is a Countess.

- when the tea party starts, lucia introduced damien but then nobody welcomed damien. nobody clapped after his introduction or smiled or anything, they kinda ignored him or stayed silent.

- this is because the countess, aka the old lady, rejected damien and started the reaction of ignoring damien. this rejection is called a 'party break'. a party break happens when one of the attendants of a party silently protest an aspect of the party to the host, when it happens it ruins the atmosphere.

- when the countess did the party break, lucia grew mad cause it meant the countess and her fellow old ladies didnt like damien and want him out of the party.

- instead of sending damien out, lucia said to the party attendees that she was disappointed in them and that she would not invite them again for the disgrace theyve shown her, she then said that the attendees should see themselves out since having to escourt them out was a courtesy she doesnt give to those who disgraced her.

- lucia ended the party just minutes after it began.

Woahhh, and then how does the duke react to this??

- the didnt hear about the event til he came back to the duchy later on that knight.

- thought Lucia managed to look angry and stoic a during the party and when she forced her guests home, after she cleaned up the party, she began to cry because she realized that this might impact damien negatively.

- so while she cried, she apologized to damien who didnt really think much of what happened. this is where damien began to think of the lucia as a mother instead of the duchess.

- because lucia cried for a while, when the duke arrive for dinner, he noticed lucia's tear stains and red eyes and asked what happened.

- lucia kept quiet and the duke got impatient. He called for jerome, the butler, and asked why was his wife in this state. Jerome told the duke about what happened and was pissed.

- lucia told him to not interfere with high society since it was a woman's job but a few hours later after lucia slept, the duke asked jerome to gove him the list of attendees of the party

- the duke made sure to threaten the husbands of the attendees during a meeting and the duke especially investigated the countess' aka the old lady's husband. the duke cut off his investment for the count and the countess which impacted their business.

- the duke basically went behind's lucia promise not to interfered and made sure they know that if they mess with lucia, they are messing with the duke too.
