I think the dad ascended to being a deer. I believe that once they choose a successor or something they can pass on to the next stage of life spirit/deity....but idk that's what I remember
nope. he was in deer form when he found sousuke (ch.2 pg.20) I'm pretty sure they are just deer. they talk about maybe being demoted to regular deer tho. so that means they're special deer but still deer. The divine messenger thing gives them the human shape i guess.
I thought the dad is in deer form because he lost half his powers in order to save sosuke? So shiraha gave up all his powers and the dad gave up half of his so he can't retain human form? But then I'm like how come Shihara is in human form then. So I'm confused.
The manga never said Shiraha's dad lost any power. That was just a fan theory. Maybe they can be in either form and Shirara's dad likes the deer form sometimes.
But then in the top left corner, Hiko says, "This is what ya've become after losing half yer power too." Except there was never an actual reason that was stated.
