You obviously haven't experienced trauma before...
It's a psychological instinct/reflex. They can't help it. They just do those things to protect themselves. They usually don't have enough mental and emotional capability to worry about others because they're broken to the core.

I agree he should apologize for humiliating the Queen. But it's not exactly "not okay" to slap someone when you're trauma relapsed. He should be sorry for humiliating her but should never be sorry for acting on his trauma by reflex. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense for you. Traumatized people are complex and needs more understanding. Please give him more time.
Also please imagine his situation too. Imagine re-living your trauma. Imagine remembering how scared and disgusted he was when he's being assaulted. Because that's what he felt when he instinctively slapped her hand. He was scared.
ik his trauma is bad but its really is not okay to slap someone hand...and she's his wife too god imagine the embarrassment i feel bad for her
