Pretty sure it's because he doesn't want Felix to undergo suspicious procedure where he might get hurt. He talks about experimenting with Felix's blood which he doesn't want of course.
It's both I think. He wants to feel warmth from Felix's body and at the same time he's scared that one day Felix might leave him too since his own parents abandoned him.
i think he talked about this ? he is worried that felix would get affected by it.

Idk if Gio doesnt want Felix's blood to be tansferred to Gio because he ( Gio ) thinks that he'll ( Felix ) leave him ( Gio ) or he just want to feel warmth only to Felix
