Think about it from his eyes and not hers. For her to say I never knew him, then him saying I love you, to her risking her life to save the Priest out of nowhere. her saying she never knew him is suspicious. Who would risk their life for someone that tried to kill you and a person u just met?
True, the situation is so complicated rn.
How will she explain that she has another soul in her that loves the priest and won't let her love the Duke because she wants her priest back?
