for a person who sleep all his life for 15 yrs then doing swordmanship at a blink of an eye ofc it will be difficult for him...he only hav his dream of the past ..that will only benefit him mentally but physically...a woken person after a comma will wonder what happened to the world while they slept, they need time to adjust
It’s not really about him being strong, I think anyone that trained even the same amount as him would be. It’s more about HOW strong he is. Even if your body adapts to changes fast, and let’s say you get a premonition you’ll be an mma boxer, but you train only 2 months, you still won’t be at the actual level of an mma boxer that trained x30 as you.
There’s a limit to talent, especially physical talent. Well it’s a shounen, so I’ll blame it on the shounen fantasy trope lol. I just think the pacing is fast asf
i mean i don’t know the logistics but if he overworked his body i think it’ll be reasonable to say he could get to that level within three months. you also have to realize that it was really just strength training at most. i feel like the noble children are taught swordsmanship from a young age rather than focusing on strengthening their bodies. they may have done some of that but probably not to the extreme like he does. swordsmanship and strength training are two different things. swordsmanship is what takes years of learning and mastery. also i’m curious to know what your perception of a standard shounen character? other than the savior like trait he seems to have i feel like he’s a little more level headed and smarter than the standard shounen mc. it’s usually those mc’s that are dumb hot heads who want to save everyone and are overpowered without putting in an ounce of real work lmao. the perfect standard shounen mc for me is the “naruto” type.
Yes this is my point lol? There’s no way he would actually be able to surpass physically nobles in the exam. Realistically speaking, had he gotten the same amount of training as them though he would’ve obviously been one of the best since he’s already talented. I do wish for him to be strong but he’s probably going to get a reality check because he won’t be able to surpass the top in such a short time.
The standard for a shounen character to me is kind of this whole thing about « will », « power of friendship », etc. You know, when the situation is desperate, no energy left, but the hero will hear his friends cheering on him and bam! Strength recovered magically because,,, for no reason at all? Like if I have an asthma crisis, my will isn’t going to do sh*t I’m not saying he’s a bad chara, he a good boy lol. Also when I said he shouldn’t be able to surpass most the nobles, I was mostly thinking about the top ones. Like Lindsay (the white-haired girl?) for example. The fact that he was this close to surpass her is unthinkable to me because this girl obviously both focused on swordsmanship and strength training. If anything, she would have been far ahead of him. So the fact he just had to think « yeah, I can do it! » and was about to is weird, because even with adrenaline it’s impossible, unless you’re at her level or near it (like ginger that also obviously focused in both). He’s obviously better than most nobles but if he’s like ranked first at the exam then Idk what to say. Sorry for the rant lol

Idk... MC feels pretty bland? Also even if he trained his whole past life, It would still be impossible to surpass the nobles at the academy that probably trained since a young age in the current timeline. While he’s talented and worked hard, I still think he’s overpowered out of nowhere. Like, the amount of his current training didn’t even exceed a year, he legit trained for two months only. And spent several years without doing sports. This feels kind of frustrating because I actually wish for the side characters to be better than him. Please don’t hate on me for this lol im sorry
