dude ppl ARE upset w the father probably more than the ML but the ML is a grown ass man who chose to side with the father even after he slowly saw the consequences he was just too scared to back out. he made horrible actions, brought in another woman, treated FL like a baby maker, took her child away from her to give to another woman, left her to die alone in a room, made their son go crazy. any normal person would be upset at the duke. let’s not act like the ML is some teen who made a silly mistake his actions as a grown man had consequences and his actions chose to SIDE with that toxic father ur bashing here so
you says he's a grown man, but isn't the fl a grown woman as well, she couldn't do anything no matter what and the situation applies to the ml as well
I'm pretty sure you also read the part where the ml literally rejected the dad at first and was like no I'm not going to get married like that and treat the fl like how you wanted, but the fls father started killing of his men and started threatening him
the bringing in the other woman is once again is the fls father's fault, the father brought the ex in for who knows why
on the first night they got married, it's traditional obviously for people around that time to sleep together and bam fl got preggo's, that doesn't mean he treated her like a baby maker nor does it mean he doesn't care about
around this time ml was forced to go to war cause, again, the fl's father made decisions. somehow the father also had control of the duke's affairs
after ml came back from war, he could obviously see the fl was unstable and decided to take the child away
NOW I DEFINITELY DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL HIS ACTIONS AND BELIEVE HE SHOULD'VE DONE THINGS ANOTHER WAY, JUST LIKE HOW THE FL SHOULD HAVE MADE DIFFERENT DECISIONS AS WELL but at that time that's all they could've done and that's what had made sense in their world in those situations
if we can understand the fl's trauma, we can also understand the ml's trauma
cause in many other plots the fl's have went through what the ml went through, and call her courageous for standing but all of a sudden when a ml goes through it, it's a "sob story"
Nah because it is a sob story for the ml. It took his wife dying and his son locking him up for him to realize that he was a piece of shit. What he’s doing in the second timeline could have been done in the first time line. There are no excuses. He was put in a tough position sure, but he chose to ignore the abuse he was putting her though nevertheless. The trauma of a women getting called names and having her child taken away will never amount to a man not being able to do the bare minimum for his wife. If he cared at all he would have figured out a way to marry her and cut out the deal w the father.
how come everyone's so understanding of the fl (which i obviously get and support) BUT not as similar of an understanding of the ml??? look from what we see so far, they both have obviously suffered a lot but what you guys are doing in the comment section is WEIGHING WHICH SUFFERING IS WORSE, don't yall think something is wrong with this?? different people handle pain and terrible experiences differently, now so many of you guys in the comments are judging who felt more pain BY YOUR STANDARDS
again, I get it, he was terribly indifferent in his past lifetime, I wouldn't say neglected her because he was put in a terrible situation by fl's father
another thing i'd like to point out is the fl should've asked ml about something, yes I KNOW her trauma and everything she experienced has influenced her personality and the way she acts but can't you say something similar for the ml as well
so what I'm trying to say is both the ml and fl had faults and went through immense suffering, and THE CULPRIT OF IT ALL WAS FL'S FATHER
