I think the current spirit king was indeed El, though. If he could be born as a human, nobody can guarantee he didn’t have a past life before that too. The unicorn is a living evidence of it & trowel’s behavior justified it especially when lapis and the unicorn shared similar opinion regarding that spirit king of earth. Like what Elrien & that glasses God suspected, there must be someone messing up with elqueeness’s fate in purpose, who knows that might included his memories.
