This is a good explanation thanks for the info. I do have to say since we don’t know if she has any money right now (probably not), people are a little shocked just like her.
I don't hate the guy at all, I kinda agree that he could have waited like a little bit, like even an hour or something, but to me, it seems somewhat fair to ask for some form of compensation
I'm not sure most of you understand that he's asking a really small fee by today's standards. That would be pocket money for a wealthy heiress like Giselle and even working people in real life earning a decent wage could normally afford it rather easily. So I kinda don't get why you're cursing him so much, or do you maybe not realise that 500 pounds isn't even worth a third of the money and effort spent to help Giselle and educate Isaac?
At first I didn't even understand why Giselle herself was so shocked by his demand. But then I remembered that this story is set in a fictional version of the 1800's, and a quick Google search informed me that 500 pounds in that time equals 39,000 pounds nowadays.
Now her reaction makes a lot more sense. Ngl that's a hefty price and blondie must be some kind of con artist because ain't no way his efforts were worth all that money.
