I got really interested in the story and started reading the novel and she does it because she was brainwashed (And all the other women in her family.) there is no greater honer than helping her family. When she’s young she has to help her brother, When she gets older she has to help her family by marrying good and getting her husband a good job, and then help her son by raising a “great man”. It’s all very sad, that she thinks because she was brainwashed that letting the men in her family take all of her credit was the greatest honer that a women in her family could her receive.

Hm yeah, like I said, a fatal flaw: she surrendered her ability to think for herself, and let others dictate what "honor" and a "great man" was... (otherwise she would've seen the hypocrisy of a "great man" being a covert abuser). She tramples on other powerless people in to keep surviving as the lap dog of the powerful. If she was really "smart", she wouldn't be happy being just their lap dog, and would find a way to become the puppet master even from the shadows... She'd find a way to make her brother *scared* of her, and obedient. I'd almost pity her, if I hadn't heard how helping her son by rasing him as a "great man" means that she enables his raping hobbies... It's hard to feel sympathy for a woman that gave up her brains for a mere lap dog position, just to survive on scraps of power and by acting like a mysoginist.
Sis is smart at business but very dumb in her alliances her brother just called her the typical "useless woman" and she's quiet?
