This is the first time I've seen an author just make an ex or parent complete and utter trash with no sad backstory but also kept them around this long. So, I'm hoping you're right, and it's just for fodder. *fingers crossed* I really wanna punch them in the throat. Or maybe it's to make them suffer by seeing her free and happy. If so, they don't need any speaking parts, lol. Just let them fester in the background.
