It’s interesting seeing a FL that’s not brave and courageous and gets herself into more serious situations where she’s a damsel and the ML or Second ML have to go and save her. They’re interested in her because Arsene showed interest in a woman enough to marry her. Go read a manhwa that has a different FL. People like you expect the FL to be born brave and courageous, instantly is a good liar and has hardly any flaws. You expect the FL to be holier than thou type and don’t expect any character arcs, you don’t expect her to improve but you want the improvements there as soon as you read. Go read something that has the qualities you’re looking for.

You're expecting her to be jimmy neutron in a situation that she was being forced into while being a child. A girl can be a damsel in distress whether you like it or not, so fucking what if she is? She literally has no skills whatsoever aside from the knowledge of the novel she read? She's allowed to feel weak and vulnerable in a place where she only knew about from a fictional novel. You see, feminism and being a strong independent doesn't have to the stereotypical girl boss, especially a normal high schooler. Think about it.
Well I'm not expecting her to be strong right away, I think it's a more realistic approach for protagonists who got reincarnated into novel world to act like the MC, still figuring out everything. Heck if I'd be her I'd probably do the same. My problem is with her expression, or maybe it's on the artist that they drew the protagonist's expression like that in every panel. That's what makes her look weak and scaredy cat to me, it's different from the protag in Under the Oak Tree, I quite like her despite being weak in the beginning. And I don't see anything in this FL that's interesting enough for Arsene to keep her alive, like she has no solid reason to be kept alive, or maybe the answer will be revealed later in the story, but the build up of her character isn't enough for me. I'll stick around to see her character development tho

Gotta be honest the female lead is so boring. She's not brave nor intelligent, she's clumsy and always got herself into trouble when she definitely knows there's gonna be trouble, she's not good at lying or fooling the ML, she's scared and wear the same expression most of the time, she's a damsel in distress. And what, the emperor and the empress were suddenly interested in her? That's because Arsene is the interesting one. I'm staying for him only and see if the FL is gonna change in the future
