I totally hear you it’s supposed 2021. I am all for the MC being saved when needed but it’s all the time. When will the MC save the ML. And why do authors feel the need to create shitty people just to show the MC in a better moral light? Not Calliope is a Mary Sue.

Same. Like I do like a world which is patriarchal and when it shows how WOMEN fight their way through and come to power regardless of oppression, with their strength and intelligence. But usually it’s just typical “I need a man to save me” bullshit and frankly not only is it boring but also annoying.
I like her a little and I think she has potential because she is smart but gosh, there is no situation in this novel where she can upgrade and develop herself. A good seed and a bad environment doesn't work together. She need some difficulties where the male lead doesn't save her so she can be INDEPENDENT !!!!!

I don’t I like the mc who are not perfect to begin with I guess. I like the ones with sass and that don’t seem like underhanded people but still go for what they want like Melissa.

I hate how in most of shoujo mangas the males come in and save our damsel in distress mc bc they hold more power and influence I know, I get it mc isnt in that high of a position but thats something thats decided by the author and they decided the most women mcs will be saved by the males of high power
