just because he is paranoid doesn't excuse really anything, the mc literal goal in the beginning was to escape from him, when he found out their was no baby he proceeded to still have her captive which isn't right? She has to ASK or "payback" to go where she wants to go, thats scary and I don't think personally thats love at all more like Stockholm syndrome

and can we also add that she tried to kill herself so she can just let it all go? But that man saved her because he didn't want the "BABY" to die pretty sure he didn't care for her until he got more attached because of HER COOKING

He had a paranoid and he can't accept that his wrong of the baby thing cause he know his perfect.
