I dont think so. The meaning of "Hotaru dies tommorow" is the Hotaru in Nimiya dies because the next day he became THE real Nimiya (total nerd). And at the end, "the end of summer Hotaru dies" is prolly means that Asada doesnt need Hotaru in Nimiya anymore since he already love the real one.
Hotaru is a protagonist in a romance erotic book who is lonely so rather than killed her, it would better if she find happiness imo ╮(￣▽￣)╭
