why did they stop?
For several reasons as far as I could gather. There were also different groups operating so all reasons might not be true for all of them.
So one reason was to stop because this has an official english publishing now on manta and tappytoon. So whoever wants to read in english could do so officially.
Another reason was that most do not really seems to understand Korean.
Translations were incomprehensible and misleading, and now that there was an official translation it seemed better to leave it to them instead of the chaos of wrong translations.
The latest problem with the english ones seems to be that one group used the scanlations of a spanish group without asking them and that sprouted some discord.

All 3 groups received a cease and desist order to stop because it was being shopped around for an official release. Even with the official release some randoms picked it up and kept translating (poorly). (I also thought it was agreed upon to stop and wait for tappytoon to catch up). I think the fans finally stopped translating. I hope so, because it will give a chance for the official release to catch up to mangago
Yeah, I just got done reading it. I saw, and could tell, where it switched to different ones. After that one point I couldn't really understand what they were trying to say quite a few times because of the translations. So is the original version further along than this then? I'm kinda curious on how many chapters we can look forward to.

The Korean official translations are at 107, the english ones are at 39 with a new chapter each Tuesday.
You can buy those on tappytoon, just make sure you use the page with your browser and not with the app and look up the "mature" version because they are two entries for Dear Door. On the app you will only find the not-mature version.
I've held off on reading this for a long time. Waiting for it to get completed, close to it, or at least have a bunch of chapters to read. But after all these years, we're not even up to chapter sixty yet!? (⊙へ⊙ )
