I was thinking about the connection of them too. I feel that because Kang doesn't remember why he was punished it could have something to do with San.
Yeah :((( maybe he was brainwashed and sent here for his crimes against heaven itself by aiding or protecting San.
I tell you I had this scene embedded in my head since the 2nd chapter. It's Kang lying on the bed, unconscious. Everywhere is dim and the only light source is the candle beside Kang's bed. And San is sitting beside him, holding kangs hand tightly near his (san) forehead-- somewhat praying .hoping that kang would be alright
I hate it to break it to you but something similar will happen at the end. They sleep in the same bed and San wakes up again and again in the night just to make sure Kang hadn't disappeared when he wasn't looking ;_; I tell you he's going to be WRECKED. Please prepare yourself ;_;

I really like their relationship. San is such a child in a gorgeous man's body...I don't think he himself realizes his changing feelings towards Kang, but everyone else can see it. The fact that he broke his fall at the start by letting him crash into him instead rule break #1, showed him his naked body rule #2, broke protocol to take him along with to show the scenery nobody else cherished except him rule #3, broke law to have him serve food with him #4, not to mention he doesn't let him prostrate himself in front of him #5, had his reinstated as someone who would always be within reach #6, damn. Doesn't he realise Kang is his exception to everything?
I wonder if Kang will ever tell him he's only left with 3 years on earth. I wonder about his reaction...
Also, I still think that Kang being dispelled from heaven as punishment had something to with San defying god and all his temples...I wonder what connects them. The author wouldn't be hinting at destiny if that weren't the case.
