You need to concern yourself with other stuff than this and when was there a rule saying i can't address a fictional character based on their names, it's what I've gotten used to whenever I forget their names. Just because there's no sex means I can't call them uke or seme, it's a very common term in BL community

Mate look at how much BL I’ve read. I’m used to doing the same thing but just because something has been happening for a long time doesn’t make it right. Nowadays I just address them by their appearance (black hair or blonde hair etc) if I can remember their names. It’s totally fine that you can’t remember their names because I do the same thing but it comes off as gross and makes you sound like a fetishizer, I promise.

lmao please, i don't even label real people as uke/seme/catcher etc. What's in fiction stays in fiction. Simply addressing them like that doesn't make me seem fetishizer when i don't even use these kind of label on real people and I'm pretty sure everyone in the community uses way too often it to even pay attention to whatever bothers you.

But I'll keep it in mind and avoid using it as much as possible if it causes you discomfort since there might be others like you as well. It genuinely just came off to me naturally

Yeah I get your point. I just thought about it while reading comments and thought it was weird especially when stories have nothing to do with sex.
Like “Whose the top that this person is referring to?”
“Why not just learn their names?”
“Why base their sex lives off of how they act? That kinda weird”
