I feel like Luca used the goblet's wish to turn back time, with how he acts and with how the novel ended with him still being alone. He's also probably distancing himself from Ruedi so he won't die protecting luca. ALSO, remember how he confidently tried to disarm the assassin in the train? And the cake? He probably tried to use Judith as a shield since she wasn't a good aunt, but then Judith was replaced by the current judith so he changed his mind. Just my thoughts. But most of all, i love how judith dreamt Ruedi and his mother as penguins (≧∀≦)
