i actually think the author is a genius.

wait no, let me explain. so this is obviously an incredibly poorly written story right? so much that it's flustrating to read. the author basically added in all the elements that would make people wanna bang their head against a wall. love triangle, non con, toxic but good looking (? to me yahwi looks like a snake but most people find him hot so yeah) love interest, miscommunication, forced drama etc. and when people are flustrated what do they do? vent. i've seen more people talk about yours to claim than most stories that would be considered a 10/10 masterpiece. there are even different teams supporing each love interest and they keep starting arguments everywhere. when people see drama they want to get involved, many people i know started reading it only because they've seen people arguing over it in some random post. most of yall say you're close to dropping it but still keep coming back every week. i don't think the author is trying to create art or anything, honestly i would be suprised if they thought the story is even remotely good. their only purpose is probably writing something that would attract people and make them talk about it

But it's a double edged sword. Many have dropped this officiallly, my siblings included. I myself am this close to doing it. I hope it doesnt backfire on them

Riding the garbage wave isn’t genius, just lazy imo. Yes the frustration of fans is a talking point, but not a good one. I’m glad Waje is (probably) making a nice, quick buck off of this series but the more garbage stories they’re associated with then the more their art style will be seen as trash too. It’s just not sustainable in the long run, assuming that they plan on making a career out of webtoons. I hope they get to draw a good story eventually bc they’re really talented and it’s sad to see their art used this way

it is lazy, but it's effective. they probably don't really care about creating something that would be remembered as a great piece of art, the more controversial the stories are the more mainstream they'll be and the more people they'll reach. if people continiously call it garbage there'll be even people reading it out of curiousity, think of all the shows, books, movies etc. that are often called trash, almost everyone knows them and talks about them. being known as a bad creator is better than not being known at all especially if your only purpose is making money out of it.

Yes story is somehow illogical and remember it is fictional, from the points of creator: editors usually advise to use the critical or unimaginable situations because people(readers) can emotionally ATTACH to the story, in a positive or negative way, doesn't matter for them at all. In this case, while genre being romance and drama and focus of the story laying on three young men, their love triangle, strange climax situations entering the story from the start - wet dreams/childhood memories/illogical connection of blondie with MC/ even their past: a dog and master relationship, all of these will cause an emotional shock/frustration or confusion for "attached"(to the story) readers and they express what they feel: "team cain" "team yahwi" and so on they keep up with the story even just out of curiosity with "what will happen next".

And this author's previous work can only proove that he/she/they doesn't choose the usual manhwa trope. But it reminds more of the manhua work examples, which usually throws into story whatever logical/illogical that can entertain or hold readers on the edge all the time through out the episodes. Which pretty much makes almost most of readers keep on check of the story.
And it is proved that authors earn more while their works are read most when they are in the process of release but not after (completed) since ongoing stories attract more readers and completed stories usually dont earn much due to high competition between other completed works.
In the end what I mean is, author's priority might have been to earn more through webtoon rather than creating quality graphic novel which naturally takes more time and effort+ even less popular than fast past webtoons so not worth it?! Maybe, it's how I understand. Cause till now webtoons are never seen as an art peaces or appreciated by art community if to talk about artists talent.
Sorry for my ted talk and bad English lol
