I'd say that is a 50/50
It being fetishized by creeps is a plotpoint in 2 arcs, both involving hooni deciding the internet was a good coping mechanism, but both are acknowledged to be bad by hooni and surim as the arcs conclude. The fandom tho gets pretty nasty so I tend to avoid it
