In the Novel Kuro gets pregnant with Zion child, she is normally in her fox form because it will strange if she looks like a pregnant kid and he keep getting mad she sleep on the floor when she is pregnant. Also, they explain the reason she looks like a child is because she is weak during the day (she is dark attribute), not because she prefer that form, at night she looks like a woman!!!
