The uncle did say BOTH his parents were DEAD and that he’d see his brother in hell for abandoning Tian Cai (although hell might just be another planet but that’s pushing it). Also I wouldn’t take the latest chapters translation as word on stone because there are tiny mistakes. Like the last dialogue bubble “to have me in captivate” would’ve made more sense if it was spelled “to have my in captivity”. But really can’t blame the translator for trying.
He didn’t say they are dead it’s just you will think that they are dead from the dialogue, I thought they were dead but now I think at least one of them is still alive the plot is all about his past and family
No, the dialogue said they were both dead, not dead to the family but dead. I think you are reaching about one of his fathers being alive just because the red haired uncle in the latest chapter said “my brother sent it”, which could mean a lot of other things. Also this manga was originally Chinese. Brother tends to be thrown around a lot in conversation to close relatives or even friends as a sign of respect or affection. Just how like oppa gets thrown around alot in Korean, they don’t have to be blood related to be called oppa.
Also they aunt/uncle NEVER says who is after Tian Cai/Lai. You assumed it was the aunt’s/father’s family but in never was made clear it was the family that was the danger. As the dialogue goes “early, or later, they will kill him.” THEY.
