hell no there are so many parents out there that guilt trip their kids, force them to do things they think is right, manipulate and be helicopter parents.
Although i’m basing it on stereotypes, I have seen a lot of comparisons on how different western (or at least american) moms are compared to asian moms lol america is mostly about children becoming independent / freedom, while in a lot of asian countries (im asian) being a filial child is one of the most important trait, if not the most, for children, which is why the mom here is so overbearing in how she feels it’s teach’s duty to listen to her / show his love by following whatever she says simply because he’s her son.
R parents really like this in Korea. It's not the first time I've seen such parents in manhwas. Makes me wonder if there r more incidences of such parents in Korea. Like ik tht this is fiction and all but still it must come from somewhere right. There has to be some sort of inspiration being taken from real life.
Anyway phew talk abt toxic parents.
