The difference between that author is she’s not getting paid and her work is free. She uploaded here in the hopes that she’ll have enough views for her work to become an official webtoon and get paid. These authors are mad bc ppl are reading their paid work for free. They don’t care if their work is popular w/ illegal/foreign readers bc we are doing nothing to increase their revenue. I see so many authors complain that a surge or foreigners have started to follow them on social media but when they look at their bank account it doesn’t correlate to the surge of their popularity. We literally caused this author to chain block foreign followers and make her account private on tw*tt*r bc she wants nothing to do w/ us. A lot of authors can’t make the decision to serialize their work in another language even if they want to, it’s their publication company. The publication company won’t serialize works in ENG if the revenue is low. This one was fortunately serialized in ENG at the same time of its KOR release bc the author has an established popularity in KOR already.

Yes more ppl become aware of the authors stories but we can’t consider ourselves as “supporting” them bc we’re not helping them get any money and are mostly giving them unwanted attention as an illegal reader. Only 1/10 ppl will actually support the author and the other 9/10 won’t, even if they can afford it. Why? Bc it’s already uploaded here for free. Yeah, it be nice if we could all support the author, but that won’t happen. Being an illegal reader is fine, but we shouldn’t justify being an illegal reader or illegal sites bc it’s 100% wrong and we aren’t doing any favors or helping the author out in anyway. We’re reading free for our own convenience while also stealing money from the author.

This is not true at all, no matter what you say to make yourself feel better about reading here, it wont change the fact that this is stealing revenue from authors. There are works on this site alone with 3M+ views and when you look at the official release, they are struggling to reach even 100K views. There are tons of works here which have millions of views, comments and reviews but have been removed from official sites because they are making little to no sales at all. only about 1/10 of people who find a work here will actually go to support the authors because they “already have access to it for free anyway”. It’s been proven that when people don’t have access to the works here anymore or they’re pushed to support the authors for faster release they’ll go and support the authors as a last resort(as was the case with dear benjamin and max mojave). There are so many ways to support the author without spending in a single $, and people still refuse to put in the effort to do so.
im sorry but sites like mangago are the biggest reason most of the yaois become popular. i wouldn't even know they existed if these sites didn't exist. there was an author (sorry i forgot the name) who was uploading THEIR OWN WEBTOON here so people would know and read it officially. its a benefit for both author and the manga/manhwa/manhua whatever you name it.
