I think he has this mindset that if ever his image will not be perfect he is useless, this might be something related to his trauma (just a guess) and when him and uke starts to date and uke finds out why he started dating him, uke will be hurt and break up with him, he will be so down and hurt because he realized his real feelings too late. I'm prolly wrong or right who knows? Let's see how this turns out.
