Cheating is way bigger than you'd expect it to be. As someone who hasa father who's cheating on their wife, an ex who's cheated on me, it makes you feel like so much shit to have a dad who cheats on his wife, and an ex who cheated on you. I was extremely traumatized. I have a few problems with trusting people to be in a fully comitted with me. Don't downgrade cheating, it's not only disgusting, but also extremely insensitive. Regardless if you liked the boss more, it really doesn't hurt to break up first rather than cheat.
