about the art: Bum and Yul's upbringing are different, and even if they were the same that DOESNT MATTER. the works were made by different authors that have different ideas and can draw the characters the way they want.
about Yul being treated like a child: i think this is kinda realistic for people that were in his situation? they all know Yul didn’t make any social contact with anyone besides that crazy dude and Yul showed he doesn’t know many basic things. people tend to take care of people like yul in a childish manner because he REALLY is learning things for the first time as kids/teenagers do. his previous situation made him vulnerable to daily situations and a tardy learner.

you have to know that yul is being treated with so much care bc they know how fragile he is, even luan talks to him in such a careful way.
yul had a traumatic past bc that guy controlled him and any unnecessary anger can make y cower in fear. he's not being treated as a kid, he's being treated with utmost care. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE.
you guys need to stop comparing yul to other malnourished characters bc they all have different upbringings
how many times do we have to say that yul ia not a child but he's experiencing his first times with the new people around him that's why they are careful.
i am here to remind everyone that THE ARTSTYLE CHANGED!!
it's not only yul who shrinked, even luan who was a buff guy in the first chapters became so thin. you guys, want more reference? taeyi and seheon looked even smaller than the art they had for jazz for two
as you can see in the first few chapters, the art followed the same style as jazz for two but after the second season was released, the whole artstyle changed. probably bc the author found the best artstyle that suit the story of siren's song.
the artstyle also depicts yul's malnourishment, reason why he's small. pLEASE STOP SAYING THAT YUL LOOKS LIKE A CHILD BECAUSE IT MAKES THE STORY STRANGE EVEN AFTER KNOWING THAT YUL IS AN ADULT
