No they are in middle school. Jian Yi was kidnapped and taken away on the second day of high school which has not occurred yet.
What guy do you know lets his other guy friend hug and cry on him? Sure, they are still friends but their relationship was evolved into something more. I get the feeling that they are trying to go back to the way things were before but it's impossible. They both care about each other. You gotta remember that they are in middle school so they are trying to figure things out. I can tell by Zhan Xi face that he is clearly thinking about something.
