I think.. First chap, he just want to 'play' with Takase, and then step by step he realized that he loves takase that he afraid and so sure that takase will leave him when takase more famous and become possessive. (Ofc he's regretted his actions on the first chap too) He thinks that his feelings is the same with his father when his mom famous too

he loves takase but he can't love him 100% because of his insecurities. he knows he might accidentally hurt him in the future because of it, but he loves him and doesn't want to let him go, that's why he said he can't help but watch takase walk towards destruction.
he didn't manipulate his father into hitting him, as someone with a lot of stress and anxiety he just couldn't help blurting everything out so his father hit him.
hope that helped clear things up~

Lmao you’re thinking too much. He does love takase and he wasn’t trying to get his sympathy by getting his dad to hit him. He’s not jealous of takase playing piano- because he doesn’t even like the piano himself. He only started playing because of his mother, now that his mother is gone he has no reason to want to play. He’s talking about being in the way of takase’s future because of their relationship and how he actually kind of wants takase all to himself.
So I guess if you were to say he was jealous of anything, he would be jealous of the piano because takase also loves playing- and he just wants all of takase
WOAH, WOAH, WAIT A DAMN MINUTE! So does he love Takase or just jealous of him? Because I don't really get it. One panel he loves him then last panel path to destruction. Like he is doing it on purpose and somewhat has a bit of regret but he likes it when he wins but then it hurts him. And it looks like he manipulated his father on hitting him to get Takase's sympathy. I- I, what?
