    It's trained...so you don't really ride it...it gives you a ride...

    I just rode a horse yesterday, I love both horses and riding them. And for your question the most important thing is keeping your balance, your and horses rhythm should be sycronized. It is only my opinion though. By using halters you can guide horse(by pulling it right/Left to give a direction or pulling it to yourself so horse will stop), if you want it to run then you should kick(? İ am not sure if it is the right way to say)

    There’s a set of reigns, its been trained to respond to the way you pull its reigns. It’s been years since I rode a horse and I was only young so I hardly remember any of it, but generally you kick the sides to make it go faster, pull the reigns left and right to turn its head towards where you want it to go, I had a little riding crop too, but I always felt too bad to use it. (A riding crop for whipping its butt. It makes them run.)
