I think the guy Evenheart (was it ?) made the prince who is an author spread a fake story abt there relationship to protect Diane. Or somebody took advantage of it to make the prince stand out as a king, like to have a political advantage or the public’s attention . Idk this is just my opinion ╮(￣▽￣)╭
But if so, wouldn’t both of them already know about the plan, but Basil felt betrayed that Diane chose someone else!
