They probably told the hospital staff that the woman, she was a sibling of one of his parents or something and then made him believe that she was his mother. This is assuming the actual parents did not have any living family like siblings or parents of their own.
I have a theory. Maybe that whore of a woman is his dads sister since they somewhat looks alike and they both had the same last name. So, the hospital identified her as family and she just lied to him just to get the money.

So I get that Hyunwoo had lost his memories so he wasn’t able to tell who was his family, and that those mfs came in and said they were his family to take advantage of his dad’s insurance money. But even so, what about the REAL father and mother? Even if they died in the accident, wouldn’t an autopsy have been able to identify them as his REAL parents? Since when can someone just pop outta nowhere and claim they are someone’s parents without concrete proof? Tf we’re the cops doing bruh
