Her mother wished for a son in the coffin when she saw that she gave birth to a daughter
So the demon took form of a baby who looks just like her
And that demon is John
So in conclusion, John was never human

2. mom made a second wish that forced demon john into "human form" and trapped demon john inside the human form john.
3. Anettes wish (whatever it was. i fogot lol) freed the demon john so now demon john can freely show itself every now and then
