With tht type of society I dont think its possible to move on. I dont think it will be possible to divorce, or getting another partner cuz it can cause scandal. Not to mention, her shitty dad is still alive. If she divorce, she cant bring Elle with her and you dont know what her dad might do to her. Even if she cant forgive the ml, her goal right now is to protect her son plus ml still got parental rights to Elle.
What you said is right if i think in the way you said. And if they arent going to divorce ,they still can stay like friends.since they will have a hard time to start a relation between them.
I personally think its better for them to move on from this relationship.since both of them remember their past, it will affect their future relation if they are going to develop feelings,that will be like carrying a heavy burden. I think they cant ever forget their past in a sense like it will haunt them forever.
I can see that ml is trying his best to change and if it was me i can kind of forgive not on everything but still can forgive him but i dont know if i can start a relationship with him.
I think the story would be good if The fl and ml can divorce later when elle becomes an adult and they move on from this relation but can be just friends.
