South Korea is a bit conservative and traditional, but I wouldn’t call the whole country homophobic. There actually is one gay korean film that did well called “method” and there are plenty Korean bl films as well :)

No. There's just a conservative community as with almost every other country (namely those from religious-conservatives and/or the elderly). South Korea is a mix depending what media source you look at. It's also weird since their train stations/ subway lines had a lot of lgbtq+ series from lezhin as wallpapers. It's really just a hit or miss.

Kinda unrelated but related but there’s a new kdrama out now that’s a BL called Light on me/will the light shine on me, for anyone interest. Haven’t watched it as yet as only three episodes are currently out and I like to wait until I can watch the entire show in one go but the trailer and promos look really great and it’s def on my to watch list.
